Synapses

Synapses, the departmental society of Zoology at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, takes its name from the specialized connections through which neurons communicate and exchange information, symbolizing the society’s aim to connect ideas, knowledge, people and disciplines. It provides a vibrant platform for students to explore and celebrate the diverse dimensions of biological sciences. The society organizes a diverse range of activities including seminars, expert lectures, workshops, hands-on demonstrations, quizzes, scientific presentations, debates, exhibitions, field visits, awareness programs and student-led events. Through interactions with faculty, researchers and professionals, Synapses provides opportunities for students to connect classroom learning with contemporary scientific developments and real-world applications. The society also focuses on developing research aptitude, scientific communication, teamwork, leadership, creativity and problem-solving skills among students. By encouraging student participation in academic events, research-oriented activities, interdisciplinary initiatives and science outreach, Synapses fosters a culture of curiosity, inquiry, innovation and lifelong learning. In keeping with the spirit of NEP 2020, the society seeks to provide an inclusive and engaging platform where students can learn beyond the classroom, discover their interests and develop the knowledge and skills needed for higher education, research and diverse career pathways in the life sciences.
