Kalpavriksha

Kalpavriksha -The Botanical Society, organises a range of events throughout the year aimed at fostering students' extracurricular interests, with activities largely centred around subject-relevant themes. Among these, the Society hosts its flagship annual festival, Delonix, featuring a diverse range of inter- and intra-college competitions. Since the 2015-16 academic session, the department has also instituted the Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Memorial Inter-College Debate Rolling Shield, a prestigious event that draws participation from institutions across the region. The Botanical Society further contributes to academic discourse through its annual journal, Contemporary Plant Sciences (ISSN: 2393-8676). Notably, 25% of the journal's content is reserved exclusively for student contributions, offering them a valuable platform to develop and hone their scientific writing skills. The remaining 75% features articles invited from the broader scientific community, ensuring the journal maintains a healthy balance between nurturing student talent and upholding rigorous academic standards.
